Google owned Motorola announced the Moto G later in November, The price of the Motorola G put other smartphones to shame. It was priced ridiculously very low, just Rs. 10,800 (179$) for the 8GB off-contract, unlocked variant.
Motorola made a good choice by going with a Quad-core Snapdragon 400 Processor. The phone performs well, it can handle graphics intensive games like RipTide GP smoothly with no frames drop.
The display on the phone is IPS LCD 4.5-inch HD “edge-to-edge” display, 720×1280 pixels, 329ppi. The display provides us with good viewing angles. Although the colors are not that accurate but, better than the Micromax Canvas series phones. The Blacks re quite deep. It even has a high ppi.
Coming to the camera, it has a 5MP Camera with LED Flash. It can record videos in 720p. The camera on this phone is great considering the price of the phone, if you go out and buy a Point-and-shoot camera .
The only things that Motorola couldn’t put in it’s Moto G were, active listening, twist to trigger camera, and Active notifications. But this can be understood, as it’s mid-end spec device. But addition of an NFC chip could have been great. Since NFC chips are quite cheap these days.
The battery on this Moto G is simply phenomenal. It packs in a 2070mAh battery. Motorola is the number one company in the world when it comes to battery backup, Moto G is a no exception. It provides a whole day of usage easily. It has Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi.
Pricing & Availability :
It’s highly likely that we would be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, when Moto G launches in January 2014 in India.
The 8 GB off-contract Moto G would cost around Rs.10,800/- while the 16 GB variant will be costing a mere Rs. 12,000-Rs.13,000/-. At this moment of time it is clearly a Steal.
